1:10PM - “Joe Russo” arrives at the hotel in San Diego. He can’t be seen and ruin the big surprise so he wears a mask through the hotel lobby

3:57PM - Speech rehearsals begin, Joe seen here using a TV remote as a mic. Can you guess which movie is on in the background?

4:24PM - Speech practice continues, we are now using water bottles as mics. And watching some Olympics in the background.

4:43PM - The Russo Brothers film some TikTok content with the AGBO social team before heading to Hall H - See the hilarious TikTok content here - And follow us of course! More to come…

4:57PM - A little tequila shot to celebrate before the group heads out, amirite?!

5:15PM - Mask up boys, it’s time to head out to Hall H!!

6:04PM - The Marvel panel has begun and the Russo Brothers sneak through the back of Hall H and are greeted by Kevin Feige. (Masks still in hand)

6:56PM - Moments before the Russo Brothers go on stage they snap some photos backstage. (no masks?)

6:56PM - Kevin Feige: ”The one thing people have been asking is who is going to direct these [Avengers] films”

6:56PM - Reel starts playing. First clip is Captain America elevator fight scene from Winter Soldier. Crowd starts cheering because they know what this means. We are crying, screaming, sweating, nauseous. THIS IS THE MOMENT!!!! 

6:57PM - Quick moment of appreciation for Sean, who’s capturing the ~official~ behind the scenes and rocking his AGBO hat!!! He has worked on all the Marvel films with the Russos. We love you, Sean!!!

6:58PM: Kevin Feige: “Ladies and gentleman, my friends, Joe and Anthony Russo!”

Crowd: “Russo, Russo, Russo!”

Us: *sobs*

7:01PM - It’s real. It’s happening. Russo Brothers confirm on stage in front of a crowd of 7000 and everyone watching online that they will direct Avengers: Secret Wars!

7:01PM - Meanwhile backstage, a literal choir of Dooms line up and start to take the stage. [ooo scarryyy]

Who is that one in the back dressed in green? A quick peace sign to Sean on the way up. 

7:01PM: “Jared Leto”

7:01PM - RDJ!!!!!!!!!!!! The most epic reveal of all time. Check out Marvel’s video that is now in the top 10 most-watched videos on Instagram of all time.

7:05PM - And just like that, the Russo Brothers are back. RDJ is back. We broke the internet. Heart rate still hasn’t recovered.
