Oliver Norvell Hardy in March of the Wooden Soldiers

There’s only one thing we love more than movies – food – which makes Thanksgiving the AGBO team’s dream holiday. We cook, nibble, sip, and snack all day long, all while watching a film or two with our loves. What could be better?

Here’s what some of our AGBO family will be watching this year while the bird roasts.

Addams Family Values. The Addams family shows the best and worst in an ideal family. On the bad days, they’re weird and dysfunctional, but on the flip side, they’re oddly wholesome, loyal to a fault, and love each other despite their unique quirks. Also, Wednesday Addams sets fire to a Thanksgiving play, so that’s always a fun watch.”  – Phoebe Sontomango, manager of graphic design Watch Addams’ Family Values

“My favorite family film of late is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The film is worth a watch just for the 80’s and 90’s soundtrack alone, but beyond that it’s a real animated treat for the entire family. It has great themes about found family, so perfect for the season. When you’re tired of turkey, grab some pizza and get ready for the perfect dose of nostalgic fun.” – Kassee Whiting, senior vice president of film Watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

“My favorite Thanksgiving movie is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. IMHO, it illustrates that families can come in all shapes and sizes and that one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.” – Scott Nemes, president of television. Watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

“We watch The Nightmare Before Christmas to say an official goodbye to Halloween and hello to Christmas!"– Angela Russo-Otstot, Chief Creative Officer Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas

“The Disco Family staple is March of the Wooden Soldiers (1934). It’s a Laurel and Hardy comedy that played on our local Vermont TV station every Thanksgiving and still does to this day… It also runs nationally, on occasion, on This TV, as well as Turner Classic Movies”  – Michael Disco, president of film Watch March of the Wooden Soldiers

“I personally love Pieces of April (2003). It's a sweet indie film starring Katie Holmes. She plays a rebellious daughter who decides to host her family for Thanksgiving after her mom is diagnosed with cancer and all takes place on one day as she's madly prepping the meal. Super dysfunctional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming at the same time. My family loves to watch every year." – Elizabeth Littlefield, executive assistant Watch Pieces of April

“I’m going with Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. My favorite animated film of all time! The idea of my parents disappearing terrified me to my core as a child. Thanksgiving is all about family and traditions, and this one makes you soooo grateful for what you have. In addition, 'Kids in America' is an incredible song.” – Jena Block, creative assistant to president & vice president of TV Watch Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

Soul Food. It gives an authentic depiction of the love and dysfunction of families coming together around the holidays. And the actress who played Big Mama, Irma P. Hall, was my dad’s teacher!” – Patrick Bailey, executive coordinator Watch Soul Food

Into The Woods. I just watched it with my niece recently! I love the movie: iconic music, iconic cast. It’s an enchanting and wickedly dark take on beloved fairy tale classics. – Patrick Bailey, executive coordinator Watch Into The Woods

 Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone

Home Alone. It symbolizes the beginning of Christmas time and it’s my favorite movie that I’ve been watching since I was a kid. I have nephews now and we get to watch it together, which is fun to share in the nostalgia. – Niko Cazares, operations and hospitality manager Watch Home Alone

Son-in-Law. It’s a memorable movie – you can’t ever forget Pauly Shore’s character. – Becca Flores, vice president of human resources Watch Son-in-Law

Ratatouille. Pixar is a safe space for my brother and I, and Ratatouille is one of the best – the food looks so appealing. I never get sick of watching it. –Sarah Caruso, marketing manager Watch Ratatouille
