The Nagazi

On the surface, the Nagazi (“shepherd”) are an all-powerful crime syndicate. They deal drugs, sell weapons, and kill on a billion-dollar scale. They own the politicians and rule the country with an iron fist. The organization was started by two Georgian brothers Zurab and Davit, who as teenagers were forced to flee Georgia during a civil war. The brothers and their parents ended up as refugees in Armenia where they began their career as criminals. After moving up the ranks, the brothers’ reputation achieved legendary status among the Georgians so that upon their return to their home country they were greeted as folk heroes. Capitalizing not only on their criminal bonafides, Zurab and Davit created a criminal operation that not only brought wealth and power to its soldiers, but an almost religious level sense of purpose.
