AGBO x CAPE Celebrate AAPI Month with Spotlight on Rising Star ‘Brian Tang’

This AAPI Month, AGBO partnered with CAPE to shine a spotlight on emerging Asian American voices in filmmaking, with a special focus on the incredibly talented Brian Tang, whose work artfully combines personal cultural elements with stunning visual and digital effects.

Hosted in Los Angeles, the evening celebrated Asian and Pacific Islander heritage and influence in the entertainment industry by highlighting a member of it's own community. Tang, known for his unique narrative style and innovative cinematography/directing, shared insights into his creative process and the inspirations drawn from his Asian American background.

Guests enjoyed exclusive screenings of Tang’s work; including ‘Podracer’ and ‘Kodama’; spotlighting his dynamic storytelling approach through virtual production with tools like a Volume Stage and Blender.  These screenings were intertwined with discussions led by AGBO’s Albert Kim [SVP, IP & Development] and Austina Wang [Capture Lead], which enthused the audience, eager for new perspectives in mainstream media.

True to the celebratory spirit, the evening continued on to feature delectable Asian cuisine, and lively networking sessions buzzing with exciting connections and collaborations.
